7th May 2012 - A Wet Start for the Band

The band had its first outing of the season at the Lemsford Fete, Lemsford Village, Near Welwyn Garden City. It was wet, but in the true spirit of brass banding in all weathers we carried on regardless.
This spirit is typified by our super EEb bass player, Laura, who was the "dolly under the brolly" with her super solo, "Bass In the Ballroom". There are more pictures on the gallery tab.
If you want to see where the band is appearing have a look at the diary tab and the calendar

11th October - The Band Meets "Rocky" Art.
- The Band is proud and excited to be associated with London's Museum of Everything. The band has now been engaged on two occasions by the MoE artisitic director, James Brett. James is a great fan of the band and feels that the band is the perfect accompaniment to his exhibitions of challenging art and strange exhibits. Last time it was Sir Peter Blake's collection of stuffed guinea pigs (don't ask) and this time it was the celebrity launch party for Exhibition #4 at the Old Selfridges Hotel, Oxford St
The band opened with "Rocky - Gonna Fly Now!" to huge applause as the start of a knockout (!) 30 minute set. The band's reward was an evening of free booze - mojitos not pints! It was a memorable experience for all those lucky enough to be there.

We would like to acknowledge support that the people of Enfield showed on Saturday 12th November outside Pearsons Department Store when we collected £423.00 for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal 2011. This would not have been possible without the support of the Morley Store Group and without your generosity. Thank you very much. This money has already been passed on to the British Legion.
