Once described by his Biology Master in a school report as "the Dormouse at the Mad Hatter's tea party - except when standing on stage blowing a piece of coiled up brass tubing."  No change there then.

2nd Cornet / Deputy Conductor - Richard Ferraro

Richard has been playing Piano since the age of 4 and started playing trumpet at the age of 8. Richard joined the Enderby Youth Brass Band in Leicestershire in 2004 and had many successful years contesting with the band. He is now our Deputy Conductor.

Steve has a background in marching bands arranging music and writing shows, he was dragged into the Brass Band world 15 years ago (his words). He has played with various bands and plays regularly with Potters Bar Town Band. He has been with Enfield for the past 10 years.

Solo Horn - Karen Burnell

Karen started playing cornet in brass bands as a teenager and then moved to flugel and then to tenor horn. She likes to mix this traditional brass music with new and contemporary repertoire and is always willing to try out and experiment with new styles of music and performance.

1st Horn - Sam Rice

Samantha has played tenor horn with Enfield since 2009.  Although she now likes brass band music, as a relative newcomer to the world it all seems a bit of a mystery to her sometimes.

BBb Bass - Duncan Hough

Born and raised in Sale, Cheshire. His interest in music led to starting on trumpet in 1998. 2001 saw a switch to Cornet before transferring to Euphonium at the start of 2002. He is now giving the BBb a go!

EEb Bass - Laura Cockman

Laura has been playing the tuba for over 10 years, but has recently started playing again after a four year break. She previously played with Bollington brass band and then several orchestras and wind bands at university. Laura is a regular solosit for the band.


Laura enjoys pub quizzes, and once appeared on the Weakest Link (coming fourth)!

Drums & Percussion - Graham Hart


Graham has been banding for nearly 36 years and loves it. He has played for Welwyn Garden City, St Albans and Stevenage and has been a guest for Watford and Epping Forest. He has contested about 30 times and has accompanied Rod Franks, Roger Webster, and Don Lusher
