Meet the Band

2nd Horn - David Barlow

David has been in the band since 2003 and has been Secretary for 5 years.

Originally from the North (born Wigan), he made a return to banding (on the cornet) having not played for 20+ years. He calls these the ‘lost years’. David likes stirring music that makes the hair stand up on your neck; he dislikes ‘un-chucks’, cheesy music and most stringed instruments.

David’s band tip is “Try to play what’s written on the music, admit to nothing and never look the conductor in the eye!"
 
Outside of the band, David works for a major retailer (Head Office), has two daughters and loves cricket (County Champions Lancashire and England).
