1st Horn & Band Treasurer - Bryan Long
Bryan comes from a family of brass band enthusiasts. He joined the band in April 2012 having not played for over 30 years.
Originally from St Albans, his involvement with brass bands in his younger years was primarily connected with the Salvation Army where he played Tenor Horn and, for a short time, Euphonium - he puts the 30 year gap down to teenage rebellion and a stubborn streak. His interest in playing again was ignited by visits to the National Championships at the Royal Albert Hall and the Yorkshire Regionals in Bradford.
Away from the Band, Bryan is married with three teenage children (probably another explanation for the long gap between playing). He likes to travel, mainly to warm places, and enjoys golf, cricket and Angry Birds.
Bryan’s advice to anyone looking at the website and thinking of making that call is “Do it - it’s great to be back involved again."
